Small habits, big energy tomorrow.

1. Getting started: the daily cycle

What you can do

Record your meals, exercise, sleep, and weight, then give your Mitos the food that arrives the next morning. Fish increases their number, vegetables boost their energy, and meat helps unlock new body areas.

Keep at it, little by little!

The daily cycle

  1. RecordRecord your meals, exercise, and other daily activities.
  2. Receive foodThe next morning, review the previous day’s results on Home to receive food.
  3. Feed your MitosDrag food from the bag at the bottom of the screen toward your Mitos.
  4. Enjoy the changesFish increases their number, vegetables boost their energy, and meat helps unlock new body areas.

An app day starts at 5 a.m. A record made at 4:59 a.m. belongs to the previous app day; one made at 5 a.m. belongs to the new day. Sleep is an exception: it is recorded against the calendar day before you wake up.

You do not receive the day’s final food rewards as soon as you make a record.

2. How food works

Fish, vegetables, and meat come in grades 1–3. The numbers below describe changes within the game.

Fish: increase your Mito count

Fish comes from the assessment of aerobic exercise and steps. Grades 1 / 2 / 3 add 0.5 / 1 / 2 Mitos, with growth caps of 40 / 60 / 100 Mitos respectively.

Vegetables: boost energy

Vegetables come from your daily meal assessment. Grades 1 / 2 / 3 add 2 / 4 / 7 energy, with caps of 40 / 60 / 100 respectively. Meals with unknown nutrients may prevent the food reward assessment from being finalized.

Meat: work toward a new body area

Meat comes from the assessment of strength training and similar exercise. Grades 1 / 2 / 3 add 0.5 / 1 / 2 unlock points. Meat does not directly increase your Mito count.

Unlocking the next area requires conditions including 100 Mitos in the area you are raising and 60 unlock points. Unlocking spends 60 points; it does not remove 60 Mitos. The new area becomes available on the next app day.

Oxygen cylinders: separate from ordinary food

When you meet an encyclopedia condition, you earn a dedicated oxygen cylinder (for example, through your meal or exercise records, or a perfect score on the professor’s quiz). Cylinders have no grade; using one evolves an ordinary Mito into that form. They do not add growth effects such as Mito count, energy, or unlock points, and they do not use the gathering and eating animation.

Fish, meat and vegetables drop one grade every 24 hours after they arrive, down to grade 0. The growth effect uses the grade at the moment you feed them. The sooner you feed them, the bigger the effect.

Giving food

Drag fish, vegetables, or meat from the food bag at the bottom of the screen toward your Mitos. When they finish eating, large numbers appear in the center of the screen for energy, Mito count, or unlock points. There is no results pop-up.

3. Your daily records

Meals

  1. Choose breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack, then enter a dish name to analyze it.
  2. If the dish is not in the dictionary, select its main protein source or choose “Not sure.”
  3. If needed, use “Edit nutrients” to enter protein in grams. Review the details and confirm the record.

Editing the same meal slot on the same day updates that record. Unknown nutrients do not mean 0 g or 0 kcal. The morning prompt to enter yesterday’s meals lets you choose a missing breakfast, lunch, or dinner slot.

Exercise

Record the exercise type, duration or repetitions, and effort level. The standard duration choices are 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45, 60, and 90 minutes. Steps are imported through a health data connection. Overlapping steps and exercise are not simply counted twice.

Creating an exercise plan does not count as completing exercise. Ladder and burpee courses are recorded as completed exercise once you complete the course.

Sleep

Without a health data connection, answer the sheep’s morning questions about how you feel on waking and whether you had too little sleep, a normal amount, or plenty. With a connection, sleep duration is filled in automatically. Numeric sleep-duration fields and graphs appear only when you have a connection.

Sleep is recorded against the day before you wake up. Its effect is applied directly to the next morning’s energy, separately from meal-related food rewards.

Weight

Enter your weight to record it. Entering it again on the same day replaces that day’s value. A manual entry takes priority over an imported measurement, even if the imported one is newer. On days without a manual entry, the latest imported measurement is used.

4. The start guide

Open the card on Home using its view button and work through the guide at your own pace. It has three chapters:

  1. Meal plan: plan your meals with Momo Sensei.
  2. My exercise plan: plan activities with Muscle Mito. After saving, you are asked whether you want to add another activity.
  3. The professor: learn how to read the app’s screens.

Making a plan is separate from recording the meals you eat or the exercise you do.

5. Health data connections

Health Connect on Android

The connection handles six data types: steps, exercise, weight, height, sleep, and VO₂max. Permission alone is not enough: the source app must also contain a measurement.

  1. Open the health data connection in the app’s settings.
  2. In the OS permission screen, allow access to the data types you want to import.
  3. Check that the source app contains the relevant data.

The normal connection imports records from the time you grant permission and connect onward. Earlier records are not included in the normal automatic import. History displayed for reference is separate from records used for growth. History from before your initial setup does not generate a backlog of food rewards.

How imported sleep is handled

Sleep from multiple sources is not simply added together. Overlapping periods are merged and awake time is subtracted. Sleep is recorded against the calendar day before you wake up. Your own answer about how you feel on waking takes priority.

Garmin

Garmin integration requires a Connect IQ app, a compatible watch, device permissions, and other setup requirements. Not all Garmin Connect data is necessarily available through Health Connect.

6. Backups, a new phone, and data migration

Export a backup

  1. Use the backup section in settings to export your records and growth data as a JSON file.
  2. Check that the file actually exists in the save location. An export message on screen is not enough.
  3. Load the exported file to check the backup.

Restore a backup

  1. In the restore section of settings, select the backup you want to use. Selecting it does not replace your data yet.
  2. Before replacing anything, export your current data too, then load that file back to verify it.
  3. Confirm the restore after verification. Replacement may be stopped if your data changed after verification or the file has a problem.

Before switching phones

Check the actual backup file on your old phone and keep it somewhere your new phone can access. On the new phone, select it in the restore section of settings. Restoring a JSON backup does not necessarily transfer the same user number or invitation relationships.

Moving from 2.x to 3.0

What stays: weight, meal, exercise, and sleep records; your profile, settings, exercise plans, steps, and ladder and burpee course history.

What starts again: you begin with 1 Mito and 10 energy, and the collection returns to its initial state. Growth results, food, feeding status, and collection achievements are reset. The tutorial starts again with language selection.

Your earlier records remain, but the same old records do not earn growth or collection rewards again.

7. Frequently asked questions

Why hasn’t any food arrived?

On the next app day, review the previous day’s results on Home. Unknown nutrients may prevent a meal assessment from being finalized, and exercise food depends on the assessment. Editing records does not reissue rewards you have already received for that day.

Why isn’t my Mito count increasing?

Fish increases the count. Vegetables boost energy, while meat adds unlock points. Check the growth cap for the fish’s grade, and whether the fish has dropped in grade over time (feed it sooner).

I entered a meal incorrectly. How do I fix it?

Edit the record for that date and meal slot. This updates the same record. Food already received cannot be claimed again.

Why isn’t health data appearing?

Check the connection in settings, OS access permissions, and whether the source app contains measurements. If you allow only some data types, only those types can be imported. Automatic recording covers today and the past 3 days; records from before the time you granted permission can be imported with the button in the health data section of settings.

Why am I not getting notifications?

Check the app’s reminder settings and the OS notification permission.

How do I change the language?

Change it in settings. The language saved in the app takes priority over your device language.

Why doesn’t an imported weight replace mine?

A manual entry takes priority for that day. A newer weight measurement in your health data does not replace it.

I can’t find my data.

If you have a saved backup, follow the restore steps. If you still need help, use the backup support option in settings.

Why did I go back to 1 Mito in 3.0?

Migration from 2.x keeps your records while restarting growth with 1 Mito and 10 energy. See data migration for details.

Does an invitation become valid just by waiting?

Time alone is not enough. At least 24 hours must pass both after the invited person completes initial setup and after the invitation relationship is created. The invitation is checked when that person opens the app again. An invitation code can be entered within 7 days of registration.

8. Important information and sources

This app is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or personalized diet or exercise guidance. This help page does not provide medical information or individual advice. If you have a medical condition or restrictions on diet or exercise, follow your healthcare professional’s instructions.

Meal points and grades, staple-food amounts, calorie targets, and activity factors are app-specific guides. In-game Mito counts and energy are not measurements of your body or evidence of a physical benefit.

Sources for nutrition values and dietary references
